Joulu on realiteetti

Jesajan kirja luvun 9, jae viisi on kuuluisa Vanhan Testamentin profetia. Jeesusta kuvataan ihastuttavilla ja valloittavilla ilmaisuilla: "Ihmeellinen neuvonantaja, Väkevä Jumala, Iankaikkinen isä ja Rauhanruhtinas".
Billy Graham kirjoitti: "Kriisien vaikeuksien, ongelmien, ja pelkojen keskelle tulee todellinen joulun sanoma: toivoa, hyvää tahtoa ja sydämellistä iloa. Eräs henkilö kysyi: "Missä on Rauhanruhtinas maailmassa, joka on täytetty niin monella vaikeuksilla ja hankaluuksilla?" Joulun sanoma on kuitenkin ajankohtainen, vallankumouksellinen, vakuuttava ja rauhoittava. Uskon, että yhteenveto joulun sanomasta on kolmessa sanassa: kehto, risti ja kruunu.

Christmas is a reality
In Isaiah 9:6, the famous Old Testament prophecy, Jesus is described with marvellous titles: "Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace."
Billy Graham wrote – "In the middle of all crisis, difficulties, problems, and fear, comes the true message of Christmas with all of its hope, goodwill, and cheer...Some people ask, "Where is this Prince of Peace in a world filled with so much trouble?...The Christmas message is relevant, revolutionary, and reassuring to us today. I believe it can be summed up in three words: a cradle, a cross, and a crown."
Holy, Precious Father God, thank You for the miracle of Christmas, the miracle of Divine love, compassion and grace. Thank You for breaking into this world with humble tenderness, for sending Jesus to be born in a simple stable, to live among humans, to die for us. Please forgive us for losing sight of your holiness and your infinite sacrifice, for forgetting that You are King of kings and that Your kingdom has NO end. Thank You that Your loving protection is constantly watching over us and guarding us and like a mother hen watches over her chickens. Please continue moulding and pruning us, so that we can be more useful for You in Your Kingdom. We praise and thank You for allowing us to celebrate this Christmas under the cover of your wings.
