5.Ms 2:7 Sillä Herra, sinun Jumalasi, on siunannut sinua kaikissa kättesi töissä.

Herra Jumalamme, Lunastajamme lupaa hankkia KAIKEN tarvitsemamme.

Martti Luther kirjoitti lyhyen rohkaisun: "RUKOILE JA ANNA JUMALAN MUREHTIA!"

We lack nothing!

In Deuteronomy 2:7 we read, "For the LORD your God has blessed you in everything you have done. He has watched your every step through this great wilderness. During these forty years, the LORD your God has been with you, and you have lacked nothing."'

When Moses began to relate the history of his journey with God, he started with what Father God said; "I've been with you on the entire journey, even in the wilderness, in the desert, on the stony path, even when the water was bitter, even when the other nations attacked you, through every difficulty, I was walking right beside you and none of you lacked for or needed anything!"

Our Lord God, our Redeemer, promises to supply ALL our needs. Abba Father, who feeds the sparrows and clothes the lilies of the field, reminds us this day that we lack nothing!

King David wrote Psalm 23 which starts with "The Lord is my Shepherd. I have NO need..." Some translations say, "I lack nothing." Our Good Shepherd cares for us and looks after us! What a great reminder to thank God for His caring for us since the day we were born!

Paul reminds us, saying, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God" (Philippians 4: 6, N.I.V.).

We all have things that make us worry - Accounts to pay, family members or friends who are ill, children who need attention. The pandemic is also causing anxiety as we would love to be with family during Christmas time, but it is not possible. Even reading worldwide news can be distressing.

Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 5:7 - "Cast/throw ALL your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." Yes, Jesus cares deeply about us. He waits patiently for us to come to Him and trust Him in faith and in prayer, to take our burdens to Him so that He can carry them for us. Trusting Him helps us realize that we lack nothing! What a Saviour we serve!

Martin Luther wrote a short encouragement which reads, "PRAY, AND LET GOD WORRY."
